Two incidents at Ineos’ facilities in Grangemouth led to 66 complaints about noise and odour over the weekend.

The incident in turn would lead to “periods of controlled elevated flaring” at the Kinneil terminal close to the refinery, said the firm. The noisy activity would last up to 48 hours, it added, while the firm made “every effort to minimise the level and duration of the associated flaring.”
