Scottish and Southern plans ‘net zero network’

Electricity network operator Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) has revealed plans for substantial investment in the distribution of renewable electricity south from the north of Scotland.

Its draft business plan for the ‘RIIO-T2’ transmission price control period, running from 2021-2026, was opened for consultation on Thursday. Its network region, essentially the area north of Perth, is of great potential for increasing the production of renewable electricity, having wind, wave, tidal and hydropower resources.
