Natural Resources Wales unveils new ‘place-based’ leadership structure

Natural Resources Wales (NRW) has announced its long-awaited restructure, which it claims will enable it to “focus more on the needs of the environment and people at a local level”.

The environment regulator has faced mounting criticism over its corporate culture since a controversy in 2014 over how it awarded a series of timber sale contracts that ultimately led to the appointment of a new chief executive, Clare Pillman, in February 2018. 

Upon her arrival, Pillman said she wanted to take a “fresh look at how NRW works as a team”.
