‘Reckless’ firm to pay £10,000 for wasting water

Severn Trent has successfully prosecuted a drain cleaning firm for wasting water and tapping into its network without prior consent.

Birmingham Drain Services was fined £6,300 last week three breaches of the Water Industry Act in the West Midlands. Coventry Magistrates’ Court set costs at £2,466, adding a victim surcharge of £170 on top.
