Industry chiefs call for change on packaging regulations

A coalition of industry groups has called on DEFRA to respond to a sharp and damaging increase in the price of packaging recovery notes by introducing a compliance fee.

In a letter sent to environment minister Thérèse Coffey on Friday, the heads of the British Retail Consortium, Food and Drink Federation, British Plastics Federation and the Packaging Working Group of the Food and Drink Sector Council proposed introducing a compliance fee to keep costs down.
