Cuadrilla seeks approval to restart fracking at Preston New Road

Oil and gas company Cuadrilla plans to resume test fracking at its Preston New Road site near Blackpool by the end of August, subject to regulatory approval.

The site has been beset by problems since fracking resumed in October, with operations halted on six separate occasions after breaching seismic limits.

However, the company intends to begin fracking through a second horizontal well from late August while respecting the existing seismic limits, he added.
