Glasgow could host major international climate summit

The 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) will be held in Glasgow in late 2020, if the UK is confirmed as the host country, it has been announced.

The two-week conference would be the largest environmental summit the UK has ever hosted and has been tipped to be the most important gathering since the Paris Agreement was signed in 2015.

The UK and Italy have lodged a joint bid to host the COP26, while Turkey is still in the running.
