Changes to the EA’s standard rules for medium combustion plants: 6 things you need to know

The Environment Agency (EA) plans to make changes to standard rules for medium combustion plant and specified generators in a bid to improve air quality and simplify the process for operators. It published its final decisions today. Here’s what you need to know.

1 The EA plans to make changes to a range of rules

These are standard rules sets SR2018, numbers 1 to 6 and 8, covering specified generators and new medium combustion plant (MCP). Changes to rule number 7 include the extension of the number of scenarios falling under the rule and amendments to rule 9 clarify when to submit emissions monitoring information.
