London Assembly: Heathrow expansion is ‘wrong move’

The London Assembly has today reiterated its opposition to the expansion of Heathrow and has vowed to campaign to prevent its implementation.

The assembly was responding to Heathrow’s consultation on the details of its plan for a third runway and connected infrastructure, which closes in September.

Caroline Russell, chair of the London Assembly environment committee, said she was gravely concerned that Heathrow is prioritising the interests of the airline industry and passengers over and above the health and wellbeing of Londoners.
