EA eyes use of incentives in environmental regulation

The Environment Agency has launched a research project to explore the potential use of incentives within environmental regulation.

In an update posted on LinkedIn, the agency says that it is “currently undertaking a research project with Cambridge University exploring the potential use of incentives within environmental regulation”.

At this stage, the work is only exploratory, according to the agency. “This is research and is not a firm commitment to the future use of incentives,” the update says.
