What’s going to be in the Environment Bill?

The remaining parts of the draft Environment Bill are due to be published this autumn. What do we already know and what has yet to be resolved?

Since the government published the first part of its draft Environment Bill last December, there have been moments of high political drama and sombre reflection.

Pre-legislative scrutiny reports by the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (EFRA) and Environmental Audit (EAC) Committees were highly critical, saying the draft fell “woefully short” of expectations, while experts across the environmental profession offered constructive criticism on how it could be strengthened and its loopholes plugged.
