Greener UK head takes up new role at DEFRA

Amy Mount, the head of the green group coalition Greener UK, is leaving to take up a new position at DEFRA.

Mount has become a well-known media personality, regularly appearing on TV and in print to urge the government to stick to its promise of upholding EU environmental standards after Brexit.

Greener UK represents 14 of the UK’s environmental organisations including the RSPB, National Trust, Green Alliance and Greenpeace, and was set up after the Brexit referendum to counter pressure to undo the UK’s green protections.

Contacted by ENDS, Mount was not at liberty to say what her new position at DEFRA would be.
