‘Peers for the Planet’: House of Lords to see new cross-party green initiative

A group of crossbench peers has set up an initiative to push environmental issues to the “top of the political agenda” in the House of Lords and beyond.

The initiative, Peers for the Planet, aims to “work across political groups” over the next ten years to tackle the “twin threats of climate change and biodiversity loss”, according to a recent job advert

“The group is seeking to expedite progress towards a just transition towards an affordable, zero-carbon, sustainable economy and society,” the advert states.
