Poultry plant granted environmental permit after overcoming odour issues

A Bradford poultry processing plant has been granted its environmental permit, under the Industrial Emissions Directive, after solving its noise and odours problems which had prompted complaints in the past.

Bradford-based HFC Poultry had previously been rejected an environmental permit for its poultry processing plant in Cullingworth on odour and noise grounds back in 2015.

But in a decision notice published this week, the Environment Agency (EA) said it was satisfied that the company’s updated permit application, which included the enclosure of a dissolved air flotation tank to treat wastewater, was sufficiently improved.
