Researchers uncover role of antifoulants in lake degradation

Scientists working in the Norfolk Broads have found tributyl tin (TBT) - used as an antifoulant on small boats from the 1960s to 1980s - could be responsible for a dramatic decline in ecological status.1 It may also have had a similar effect on hundreds of lakes worldwide.
