EA: New installations must carry out mandatory climate change risk assessments

Waste firms and intensive farming operations must carry out a climate change risk assessment for any new site they expect to operate for more than five years, according to guidance published by the Environment Agency (EA).

Published this morning, the guidance says firms must carry out climate change risk assessment for any new bespoke waste and installation environmental permit application.

It states that firms must complete a risk assessment even if they do not expect their site to be operational in 2050.
