All have either been considered or approved for construction under the nationally significant infrastructure planning regime or for consent under section 36 of the Electricity Act.
The largest by far is Drax’s recently-approved RePower project, at 3.6 gigawatts of generation capacity, combined with 200MW of battery output, on top of 2.6GW from its existing biomass units.
