EA ‘leads by example’ with net zero by 2030 pledge

The Environment Agency (EA) has made a radical commitment to ensure that it and its supply chain take as much carbon out of the atmosphere as they emit by 2030.

The adoption of the science-based target would see the regulator exceed the requirements of the Paris Agreement on climate change. Emissions would be slashed by 45% within a decade, with the remainder absorbed by planting trees or other such measures.
