“We can no longer deny the climate emergency; we can see it all around us,” Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said in a speech in Birmingham to launch the manifesto. “We have no time to waste. The crisis demands swift action.”
The manifesto builds on many of the pledges already made by the party, including plans to expand the UK’s offshore wind capacity massively, ramp up a nationwide energy efficiency scheme for all homes and phase out petrol and diesel cars by 2030.
