Investigation into tree-felling at Dorset golf club reopened

A golf club in Dorset is once again under investigation for chopping down 36 protected trees following the threat of legal action by local residents.

The Parkstone Golf Club in Poole felled the mature pines, which stood near the edge of its property, last December despite it being subject to a tree preservation order.

At the time, officials from Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council had concluded there was not enough evidence to bring a case against the golf club.

However, the local authority has since said it is reopening its investigation.
