UK rebuked for weak industrial emissions transparency

The UK has been criticised for not providing adequate access to industrial emissions data in a report examining access to information in the EU.

The report, published today by Europe’s largest network of environmental citizens’ organisations the European Environmental Bureau (EEB), says that many member states fail to provide complete information about Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) activities online.

The IED obliges countries to make available to the public information relating to a decision on granting or updating a permit for an installation, combustion plant, waste incineration plant or waste co-incineration plant.
