‘Walk the talk’, climate committee tells Scotland

“Decisive action” is needed for Scotland to meet its world-leading objective of reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2045, according to the Committee on Climate Change (CCC).

In a report published today, the advisory body warned that decisions taken in 2020 would shape the direction of the next 25 years. It also noted that the UK’s credibility as president of the COP26 climate talks, and Scotland’s as host , following the disappointing outcome of COP25, rests on domestic progress.
