The development industry has made huge strides when it comes to making buildings more energy efficient in recent years. Environmental ratings systems such as BREEAM, which is prevalent in the UK, LEED (North America) and NABERS (Australia) have helped developers and landlords achieve ever greater efficiency standards. Green buildings are no longer a ‘nice to have’, rather they are an essential part of meeting customer expectations, particularly in the corporate sphere.
