Johnson’s COP26 pledge prompts scepticism from green groups

Claims made by prime minister Boris Johnson that the UK will seek to introduce ‘enforceable limits' to greenhouse gas emissions ‘for the whole world’ at this year’s UN climate summit have been greeted with scepticism from green groups.

Johnson made the comments, first picked up by the Independent, during prime minister’s questions last week.

“We will be leading the COP26 summit, where we will introduce enforceable limits not just for this country, but for the whole world,” he told Labour MP Clive Efford.
