‘Fatally flawed’: Wild Justice issues fresh legal warning over bird kill licences

Legal campaign group Wild Justice has warned the Welsh nature regulator that it intends to request a judicial review against its general licences for killing wild birds.

The group, which made a similar legal threat against Natural England last year, said all general licences for killing 16 bird species, including jackdaws and magpies, issued by Natural Resources Wales (NRW) suffer from “legal flaws”. 

NRW undertook a review of its general licences last year following Wild Justice’s challenge against Natural England, issuing revised licences in October and promising a “further review” of evidence.
