Environment Agency ordered to publish information on river monitoring

The Environment Agency (EA) has been ordered to respond to a request under the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) for details related to its review of how it monitors water quality, after the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) rejected the EA’s position that the request was “manifestly unreasonable”.

The Environment Agency (EA) has been ordered to respond to a request under the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) for details related to its review of how it monitors water quality, after the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) rejected the EA’s position that the request was “manifestly unreasonable”.

Part of the EIR request, made at the beginning of January, asked the EA to release the minutes of meetings of any sub-groups that are associated with the strategic monitoring review, “including, but not confined to, the Scientific Advisory Group and the Sentinel Project Group”.
