‘Building a dinosaur’: Why the HS2 fight is far from over

The news that naturalist and TV presenter Chris Packham is challenging Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s decision to give the green light to the high speed rail project HS2 following the review carried out by Lord Oakervee may not come as a surprise to many.

It sometimes feels as if Packham is rarely out of the government’s face these days – his Wild Justice group hounded Natural England last year over the General Licences issued for the shooting of wild birds. Whenever a hen harrier goes missing, he’ll make sure the story hits the headlines.
