Treasury recruiting top climate change adviser as spending review delayed

The Treasury is advertising for a senior adviser on climate change, but will postpone its autumn spending review, expected to unveil new climate measures, in the face of the Covid-19 crisis.

In a job advert posted last week, the department - considered to be the most powerful driver of policy change in government - has said it is looking for a policy adviser to “lead on key policy issues, such as the multi-dimensional challenges of decarbonising heat and industrial processes”.
