Coronavirus: Professional environmental bodies offer advice in ‘challenging times’

Environmental professional bodies have offered safety advice to their members, while querying if they count as ‘key workers’ and considering what impacts the viral crisis could have on compliance. Gareth Simkins investigates.

While the viral outbreak continues, IEMA’s primary focus is on providing its staff and members “all of the key resources and guidance needed to adapt to new working conditions and continue the important work environmental sustainability professionals are carrying out in response to the climate and environmental emergency”, it said in a statement to ENDS. Face-to-face events are necessarily cancelled or postponed, though webinars are still running.
