IEMA launches digital EIA guidance

The Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) has launched new guidance outlining how the industry can embrace digital practices throughout the environmental impact assessment (EIA) process, the adoption of which is likely to accelerate during the coronavirus pandemic.

This week, IEMA published its paper Primer on Digital Impact Assessment, to provide a useful guide for practitioners, developers, regulators and local authorities, on how they can move to digital impact assessments.

As part of IEMA’s 2017 strategy for delivering proportionate EIAs, shifting impact assessments to the digital space has been a core delivery outcome.
