Government ‘mulling carbon tax’ in response to Covid-19 slump

Officials have gone cold on plans to introduce an emissions trading system (ETS) to reduce industrial carbon dioxide emissions after Brexit in response to the volatility of the EU’s system triggered by the Covid-19 lockdown, according to a legal expert.
