MAP: How clean are the UK's swimming sites?

A survey undertaken by the European Environment Agency has placed the UK 25th out of 30 European countries for bathing water quality. The results show that in 2019 just two-thirds of the 644 swimming sites were classed as excellent, far lower than the proportion recorded by the countries at the top of the table such as Cyprus with 99.1% and Austria with 98.5%.
