‘Policy deficit’: UK failing to get on track to meet net zero, say government advisers

Government is failing to put the country on a path to net zero emissions by 2050 and must seize the “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic to make the country fit for “future shocks”, the government’s climate change advisers have urged.
