Gas-fired power station approved despite ‘inevitable rise in emissions’

Business secretary Alok Sharma has granted development consent for a 299 megawatt gas-fired power station in Lincolnshire, despite acknowledging the impact this will have on emissions and his recent assurances that he would review the use of National Policy Statements (NPS).
