UK in breach of wastewater law after polluting beach with raw sewage over 20 years

The Environment Agency (EA) stands accused of “ignoring” pleas to stop Northumbrian Water unlawfully discharging raw sewage onto a beach, part of a two-decade long saga which remains unresolved despite repeated intervention from the European Commission.
