Natural England forced to scrap swathes of environmental protection and enforcement work
Deep and repeated cuts to the nature regulator’s budget have forced it to curtail a wide range of environmental enforcement and protection work, including on species recovery, managing reserves, monitoring habitats, planning advice and wildlife licensing, it has said.
