Phosphates crisis: Councils call for government intervention to unblock 11,000 homes
Council leaders have called on the government for £140,000 to help them process nearly 800 planning applications comprising proposals for 11,000 homes across Somerset, which have been put on hold due to excess phosphates overloading an internationally prized area for wildlife.
