Environment Bill: What does more delay mean for the green watchdog?

News that the government’s flagship legislation is again delayed has dismayed in the environmental sector. While DEFRA blamed the pandemic’s impact on the parliamentary timetable, many have questioned the government’s commitment to its flagship environmental legislation, which prime minister Boris Johnson had previously called “the huge star of our legislative programme”.
