‘Arrogant’ waste offender billed £6,800

Peter Higgins, owner of a bathroom and kitchen business in Lincolnshire, was handed an 18-week suspended sentence for unlawful waste activities in January. Branded “arrogant” by Lincolnshire Magistrates’ Court, he stored and burned rubbish next to his shop for more than two years, despite repeated warnings from the Environment Agency.
