Sustainability is one of the key services within Turley, one of the largest independent, employee-owned planning and development consultancies in the UK. We provide a range of sustainability services to public and private sector clients across the UK. We have a growing portfolio of high profile clients and exciting projects across all development sectors. We work on Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, Garden Cities, large scale employment parks, retail, housing and health projects.
We are keen to speak with you if you have a sustainability or environment-related qualification (at degree level as a minimum, ideally also a Masters), and good experience working within the built environment and/or a corporate sustainability role. Knowledge of the UK planning system will be beneficial but not essential.
In this role you will provide support to other team members on large and complex projects and will have the opportunity to lead on smaller projects. The role will include greenhouse gas / carbon footprint assessment and validation for organisations, products and development projects (e.g. embodied carbon / whole life carbon), as well as assisting with wider sustainability work such as Sustainability Statements, BREEAM assessments and ESG.
To succeed in this role you will need a strong team ethic and a desire and willingness to learn. You will be highly numerate, comfortable interpreting large and complex data sets and a proficient or advanced MS Excel user. Sound knowledge of relevant guidance and standards such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol will be necessary. You will have a high standard of written English and strong report writing and inter-personal skills e.g. presentations. The level the role is appointed at, will be based on skills and experience.
