Associate or Technical Director: Ecologist

Are you a fully qualified, experienced ecologist? Do you wish to work as part of an existing environmental team? Would you like to be part of establishing an ecology team?

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified ecologist with a proven track record of working on large scale, complex projects and liaising with developers and statutory consultees. The role will have a particular focus on providing strategic ecological and biodiversity advice to guide planning and development strategies.

Essential skills:

  • Strategic advice
  • Advising on ecological surveys
  • Biodiversity Net Gain Assessment
  • Ecological mitigation proposals, GIS strategies and management plans
  • Desirable requirements:
  • A strong background in environmental impact assessment and habitat regulations assessment
  • 3-5 years of your experience gained within a consultancy / commercial environment
  • The ability to apply and communicate ecological knowledge confidently to clients across a diverse range of development sectors
  • Competent in the efficient production of ecological reports.

The role:

You will be expected to undertake initial site visits and surveys (phase 1 or similar) to establish initial constraints and the need or otherwise for further detailed survey work.

You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of high-profile projects across the UK, with a focus on the renewables sector. Central to this role is the ability to undertake biodiversity net gain assessments which is supported by our existing landscape and GIS teams.

Part of the role involves helping to establish a permanent new ecological team to sit within our existing environmental discipline.

You will work closely with all our disciplines and be supported by our environmental, GIS and landscape teams.
