Sewage scandal: MPs reject tougher measures to end pollution
An amendment to the Environment Bill intended to put a swift end to the practice of dumping sewage in England’s rivers and seas was rejected by MPs last night in favour of a softer approach of reducing the impacts of discharges on the environment and public health.
