The Environment Agency regulates a range of activities that affect the environment, people and the economy. As an Installations Officer you will have the opportunity to create a better place for people and wildlife through regulation and influence.
Your role with us
You’ll join the Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire Installations team. You’ll be responsible for regulating a portfolio of sites, ensuring compliance under the Environmental Permitting Regulations. You work will cover a variety of industry sectors, ranging from Food and Drink to Chemicals, Refineries and more.
Your duties will include ensuring permit compliance and making complex assessments of an operator’s ability to protect the environment, prevent pollution and optimise resources. Conducting site inspections and investigating environmental incidents are also key parts of your role.
Who we’re looking for
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who have practical Industrial, or regulatory experience who can apply their expertise in a pro-active regulatory role.
You should have excellent influencing skills, communication skills and stakeholder management skills, plus a good knowledge of relevant procedures and legislation.
A degree in a relevant subject is desirable combined with chartered status or working towards chartered status with a relevant professional institution. The Environment Agency supports professional development to achieve and maintain chartered status.
