Investigation launched after water firms admit they ‘could be dumping unpermitted sewage’
The Environment Agency and Ofwat have launched a “major investigation into sewage treatment works”, after water companies admitted they could be releasing unpermitted sewage discharges into rivers and watercourses. But rivers groups are asking why it took so long for the agencies to act.
