Government confirms changes to construction standards to cut carbon emissions
The government has introduced an interim ‘uplift’ in building standards for energy use and ventilation which it claims will cut CO2 emissions from new build homes by around 30% compared to current standards, ahead of further measures to come into effect in 2025, and has confirmed that it is working to produce a ‘statement of intent’ to address the issue of embodied carbon in buildings.
