Exclusive: Incineration of healthcare waste increased by 83% during the pandemic

The incineration of hazardous healthcare waste increased by 83.27% during the first year of the Covid-19 pandemic, jumping from 48,300 tonnes in 2019/20 to 88,500 tonnes in 2020/21, according to official NHS data analysed by ENDS.
