Yorkshire Water fined £1.6m over ‘reckless’ sewage spills

A judge has handed Yorkshire Water a fine of £1.6 million after finding that the firm was aware of equipment failures at a sewage storage facility for over a year but failed to take adequate steps to fix the problem, leading to multiple sewage spills into a watercourse.
