DEFRA rejects claims it is scrapping ELMs as ex-secretaries of state speak out

The government has denied that it is set to pull the plug on its post-Brexit farming reforms, saying instead that it is looking at where “improvements can be made”, as ex-DEFRA secretaries, high profile Tory MPs, and centre-right think-tanks come out warning that a return to land area subsidies would “squander” public money.
