DEFRA to consult on raising civil penalties for water company pollution to £250m
Environment secretary Ranil Jayawardena has pledged to raise the cap on civil fines for water company pollution from £250,000 to £250 million and has said he will launch a consultation on the proposals, but rivers groups remain to be convinced.
