EA ‘won’t hesitate’ to press for prison sentences for water company employees, says EA chief

Environment Agency chief executive Sir James Bevan said raising the civil penalties for water company pollution will give the regulator a "much bigger stick to go after bad behaviour", adding that it "wouldn’t hesitate to press for custodial prison sentences for a water company employee if the evidence warranted it".
